On Tuesday, April 21, 2021, BBBS of NYC will host our signature Sidewalks of New York Awards Dinner virtually. In the past, this event has raised over $2.2 million in critical funds for our mission. Attended by nearly 1,000 people, this event is crucial to continuing our mission to build and support mentoring relationships to ignite the biggest possible futures for youth. We are thrilled to have Soledad O'Brien return as the host of Sidewalks and for Jonathan Bram, Co-Chairman of BBBS of NYC and Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners serve as Dinner Chair.
This year, we will honor Bank of China with our Corporate Award in recognition of their indefatigable commitment to our mission. Bank of China is an active partner in many of our initiatives, including our Workplace Mentoring Program and College & Career Success Program. Their dedication to our work is invaluable, improving and supporting the communities in which we operate.
Verizon will receive our inaugural Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award. As a staunch supporter of our work and valuable partner, Verizon has been a long-standing partner via our Workplace Mentoring and other key initiatives. The company embodies the BBBS of NYC belief that leading the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion is not only the fulfillment of a business imperative and investment in economic growth and sustainability, but also a moral obligation, creating inroads for the next generation of leaders to thrive.
Cathy Engelbert, Commissioner of the WNBA, will be honored with our Trailblazer Award for her dedication to igniting the potential of others and continuing the WNBA and NBA's significant and unparalleled commitment to positively impact the community, especially concerning the lives of New York City youth and their families.
