Workshop: Group Facilitation and Presentation Skills 

Thursday, May 30 | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM 

Strategic facilitation and management of groups requires leaders to carefully plan ahead, think on their feet, modify activities based on the group needs. In this session, educators explore what is means to facilitate (versus teaching, listening, counseling, etc.), discuss behavior challenges that interfere with managing group of teens and adults, and practice using various facilitation modalities. Participants will take part in hands-on activities, be given a list of strategies that will support their facilitating approach, and leave with action plans to use in their own classrooms.

Workshop: Deep Dive into Program Planning

Launching successful programs starts with effective strategic design and planning. In this course, educators will dive deep into best practices for designing programs and curriculum. By starting with solid goals, we will tackle how to backwards plan, cascade goals through the project, make contingency plans, utilize rapid feedback and measure outcomes for your next program. We will use real life examples, analyze some lesson plan fails and tap into case studies to create an authentic learning experience.
