Paige & Jennifer: At Riverside Park Together
I thought the event was hugely successful! It was great having so many people come out, it really added to the whole atmosphere and made it seem more 'official' and important to the girls. Of course, they weren't so excited about all of the walking, and weren't too happy when we decided to do the 5K instead of the one mile, but fortunately for Jennifer, she had her friend there from High School, Regina, and I enjoyed Esther's company as well! The picnic was fun, Jennifer liked going around to get the goody bags and food, etc. But I'm pretty certain she enjoyed Kayaking more than anything. The four of us went out on the boats and had such a blast. It felt like we were in Marthas Vineyard for a little while... such a nice escape from the city! And we did pretty good too, considering it was both of our first times. That was another thing she loved - that it was my first time doing it. Because no matter where we go or what we do she always asks "have you ever done this before?" and I always tell her I have, even if it was when I was little. And I guess she just really liked that I was experiencing something for the first time too? So we were kind of both in the same boat I guess? No pun intended.
