What Your Donations Do

82% of the donations we receive go directly toward the many mentoring programs we provide for our children and their families. So, when you make a contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City you will have a direct impact on the lives of disadvantaged youth in our community.

$25 - Allow an adult mentor and child with whom they are matched to attend a fun and enriching BBBS of NYC match activity. These events encourage bonding and introduce our Littles to new experiences while improving their interpersonal skills.

$50 - Enable one child to participate in one of the many counseling and training options we provide, including: all-day retreats for children devastated by 9/11; anti-gang violence workshops for our Juvenile Justice Mentoring Program participants; and nutrition seminars for our young mothers.

$100 - Support the cost of our specialized volunteer outreach and recruitment efforts, such as networking events, advertising campaigns and public presentations, that attract new mentors for children in need.

$250 - Sponsor a child waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister, allowing them to participate in our recreational and educational activities while we recruit, screen, and train the right mentor for them.

$500 - Fund the cost of one comprehensive background screening for a potential volunteer.

$800 - Sponsor an adult mentor and child with whom they are matched for six months.

$1,600 - Adopt a match by underwriting the annual cost to establish and maintain the professionally-supervised relationship between an adult mentor and child with whom they are matched.
