We welcome your generous support and offer you several convenient ways to make a donation that
will change the lives of the many disadvantaged children and families we serve:
Donate $2,000 and you will Adopt-a-Match for one year. Become a Monthly Sustainer and have an amount of your choice automatically deducted from your credit card every month. Make a contribution in Honor or in Memory of someone special, or to celebrate a special occasion. Support BBBS of NYC by joining our Leadership Circle, a group of treasured friends who support our organization and help change so many lives. Give a gift of appreciated securities and receive additional tax benefits. Include a Planned Gift to BBBS of NYC in your will or other estate plans and invest in the future of an underprivileged child. Provide in kind gifts to BBBS of NYC and we’ll use your generous donations for our children, families and matches, for auction items at our fundraisers, or for our programs.
The average annual cost to establish and maintain the professionally-supervised mentoring relationship is $2,000. A tax-deductible gift of $2,000 sponsors an adult mentor and child with whom they are matched for one year. Donors will receive a framed photograph of a match and have the opportunity to meet with a Big and Little to learn how their lives have been changed by the power of mentoring. All Adopt-a-Match Donors are automatically Leadership Circle members. Adopt a match today! The average annual cost to establish and maintain each match relationship breaks
down to
$134 per month. Monthly sustainers can have this or any amount automatically and securely deducted
from
their credit cards or bank accounts every month. You will always have the option of changing or
halting
your tax-deductible contribution. Become a Monthly Sustainer! With a memorial or commemorative gift, you can make a tax-deductible contribution in honor of, or in the memory of, someone special--like your child or the mentor in your own life. You also can commemorate important occasions, such as birthdays,weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, christenings, retirements and graduations, celebrate National Mentoring Month in January or National Volunteer Month in April. All gifts will be acknowledged and honorees will be sent a personal note. Honor/Remember someone special or celebrate an important day in your life! You will enjoy meeting other Leadership Circle members at special donor appreciation events and together experience the power of giving as it positively impacts the lives of the neediest children in New York City. Members receive invitations to events, newsletters, periodic updates, and a listing in our annual report. All Adopt-a-Match Donors are automatically Leadership Circle members. Join the Leadership Circle today! • New Moments Maker ($250-$499): Support 1 child on our waiting list, allowing him/her to participate in our special activities and enabling our trained Social Workers to connect his or her family with a host of support services. • Match Maker ($500-$999): Support 1 match in our School-based Mentoring Program which brings at-risk students and mentors together in the school setting • Magic Maker ($1,000-$2,499): Ensure that 30 youth can participate in a BBBS of NYC educational or recreational field trip each year • Dream Maker ($2,500-$4,999): Support up to 3 matches in our Traditional Mentoring Program • Friendship Maker ($5,000-$9,999): Cover the costs of screening up to 20 potential new volunteers. • Memory Maker ($10,000-$19,999): Support up to 12 one-to-one mentoring relationships • Miracle Maker ($20,000-$39,999): Support up to 25 one-to-one mentoring
relationships A gift of stock is a very effective and generous way to change the lives of children enrolled in BBBS of NYC ’s programs. For information on transferring your stock, please contact the Development Department at (212) 686-2042. Donors can support BBBS of NYC through their estate and financial plans, including wills, trusts or other instruments, and donations of property. Planned gifts can be structured in a variety of ways to provide for loved ones by generating income for a spouse or other family members, or resources for your own retirement. Planned gifts also can offer significant tax savings by providing current charitable deductions, reducing government claims on your estate, or lowering or eliminating capital gains taxes. We recommend that donors consult with their own tax or legal advisors prior to making a planned gift. Examples of in kind gifts we accept include: • Tickets to events, such as ball games, movies, concerts, plays or the circus Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any donations of clothing, used books, used toys or furniture.
